Installation
Requirements
- React 19 and a framework that supports client components, such as Next.js.
- Tailwind CSS v4.
- The Intent UI theme tokens. If you are starting from scratch, follow the Intent UI installation guide or initialize the theme first:
npm
pnpm
yarn
bun
npx shadcn@latest init @intentui/theme-default
Add the registry
The editor is published in the Intent UI registry. Make sure components.json has the @intentui registry. If you already use Intent UI, it is there.
{
"registries": {
"@intentui": "https://intentui.com/r/{name}"
}
}Installation
Add the editor with one command:
npm
pnpm
yarn
bun
npx shadcn@latest add @intentui/editor
This creates the src/components/editor/ folder (see Project structure) and adds the Intent UI components it is built from, such as button, toolbar, tooltip, popover, menu, combo-box and the color pickers.
Use the -o flag to overwrite files that already exist, for example when updating: shadcn@latest add @intentui/editor -o.
